Welcome to my little collection of poetry. I am currently looking for good poetry. If you have something of any topic, preferably felines, but I'm not picky, please send it to me! I am looking for any origonal poetry, or graphics to illustrate any existing poetry.
All of the poetry on this page is © Copyright it's respective author. This is all here with permission. Please do not put it somewhere else without permission of the author.
Fur of fire and gaze of ice,
Feline shape, but not so nice.
Eyes that glow and fur that flares,
Evil sounds and teeth it bares.
Pointy ears, like spikes they sway,
Seeking out the weak to prey.
Whiskers streak like slashing knives,
Deathly teeth, to flesh they drive.
Born of fire and raised of hell,
This cat's lick could surely kill.
Stalking souls and chasing life,
Hatred born of sin and strife.
Living on a different plane,
Comes and goes against the grain.
Not when watching, always seeing,
Knows the life of every being.
Not of nature, not of god,
This cat from pure evil plod.
Be it pounce or claw or bite,
Beware your life in this cat's sight
Natural Fire
by James Godsmark - October 1994
(For Tekahn)
A word from the author - [This piece] is called "Natural Fire", and I wrote it about a male Siberian [tiger] that I helped to raise from a tiny cub, and who was, and is my best friend.
Beauty from the deepest soul,
Of time, and nature pure,
A God of power, of life itself,
And the darkest night's allure.
Though reduced you are in number,
Still you rule your realm,
Keeping Nature's balance true,
While Man thinks only of himself.
You are wanted by so many,
A price upon your hide,
They think of what value you may bring,
For every part is prized.
But some men love you dearly,
Alive, instead of dead,
Think only of your beauty true,
Not the price upon your head.
"The tiger is a gentleman"
Major Corbett liked to say,
He taught us of your wondrous life,
And that there is a better way.
We're living in a screwed-up World,
Where predator is prey,
In the human population boom,
You take it day by day.
You have such grace in all you do,
In everything you feel,
Wisdom shines forth from your eyes,
And intelligence that's real.
Your gift to me is one of hope,
That there still is a place for you,
But, now it's up to us alone,
To make this dream come true.
Natural fire is what you are,
Virtuous to the end,
'Til my dying day I'll always know,
That you, and I were truest friends.
Thank you for all that you taught to me,
I'll be with you to the end.
